Whiney's Death: A Personal Trouble or Issue?
I think this is a very interesting questions and it does not only relate to Whitney, but also to many other celebrities and prescribed drug users. Lately since I've had more of a understanding on how prescribed drugs work and this made me notice a pattern and this pattern was shown not only on media, but I could see it occurring in my neighborhood as well. These prescribed substances include such names as; adderal, prozac, methotraxate, xanax and zoloft. These are often stimulants that people use to numb their feelings and body.
As for Whitney Houston's case I think it might have been a personal trouble. It's safe to say that she lived a life that many other people would wish to live, yet nobody really looked into what was happening to her mentally and physically enough for her to start abusing drugs. She was a very talented and beautiful women, but at times fame, money and prestige can be overwhelming. I know she hit rock bottom before she has passed away and that was a hard time for her as well because she lost everything she worked for. I also think it was her own problem and trouble that she didn't know how to face, therefore making it a personal trouble.
Reflecting back on prescribed drugs, I find this to be an issue as well. Just based on my own experience I've seen people fall into all kinds of drugs and I've also know three people that were about my age and already died from drug overdose. This was mind-breaking for me because I revolved around the people that were getting themselves involved into this game. Playing with drugs either if your a dealer or user is still a gamble because you either die or end up doing jail time. These are the problems that our society faces and its happening everywhere. Prescribed drugs used in high doses can still cause damage to your body and many people are unaware of that. This makes it another issue that we as a society must face and deal with.
